How can I join an independent color guard team?
I was in colorguard and winterguard throughout high school. Now that I'm in college, I miss it so much but my school doesn't have a team! What options do I have to get back into competition?
Here is a link to the classes of WGI:

For you, click on Independent A, Independent Open, or Independent World under Color Guard Classes. A being the lowest skill level, Independent being moderate, World being the most advanced.
When you pick the class that you think you are capable of being in, it will give you a list of all of the units and their locations, so just find some near you. I would narrow it down to a few, checking out videos on youtube or on their websites so you know which one you might like.
If you are really good, search scores or youtube WGI championship videos and find out who the top 3 are, then pick one to audition for.
After you are down to like 3 (I would try 1 in each class), find their websites, and click on "auditions" or "membership info" or some sort of link like that. They should give you all of the information you need to know to audition. And a lot of bigger groups require that you pay money just to get the information, but that is normal.
So after you have all of your info, just practice practice and practice the audition material. Make sure not to waste time on other things that don't pertain to auditions. I would recommend watching videos of the groups you are auditioning for to try and match them.
Good luck!
