Tank Size

What size tank can I transfer my fish to clean my 10 gallon tank?

I'd like to know the smallest size I can transfer them temporarily when I do my weekly tank cleanings. I will have about 5 neon tetra fish. Is it necessary to have a separate tank with a filter and heater for these fish while I clean out the 10 gallon tank? I'd really like to not use a filter and heater if the tetras will temporarily be elsewhere for a day or two.

Simple, dont remove the fish.

Wipe the algae, vacuum the gravel, and change part of the water, with them still in the tank.

If you are emptying the tank you are over cleaning and probably destroying the natural bacteria that should be building up in the tank, not to mention stressing the fish with moving them and big water changes.
