Should there be an AYBO in the US?

The reason soccer has grown so much in the US is due to the AYSO. While basketball is popular in the school yards, it lacks strong participation from athletes under 12 because the goal and ball are too big. Those who are competitive join AAU, but that is closer related to CYSO (competitive youth soccer association) than AYSO. The issue in basketball is there are pretty much 2 sizes for balls:

1. 29.5 for men
2. 28.5 for women

Nike, Wilson, and Spalding should create 5 ball sizes so kids can begin playing basketball at younger ages. I believe it is not until the 6th grade that AYSO uses regulation ball and goal sizes, so why prevent little kids from experiencing basketball until their pre-teens. Your thoughts?
