RC nitro cars how to set low speed needle?
RC nitro carsi have the savage 21 with 3.5 nitro engine, how to set low speed needle, im comfused do i set low speed needle when the carb is fully closed or with the idle set at the 2mm then set low speed needle hope somone can help ps the manule dont explane this just tells you the base line settings as i do have the manule for 3.5 hpi engine cheers for any help rob
all the rc nitro websites hpi ect ect thay tell you how to set the high and low and idle but nothing about if the carb idle is set at 2mm first or fully closed before the low speed needle is set to default
First thing you need to do is set your high speed needle. The high speed needle setting will affect your low speed settings. Do all your carb tuning on a engine that is up to operating temperature. DO NOT TUNE A COLD ENGINE!
You want to set your idle speed so it doesn't engage the clutch, but not so low that it's going to die if you look at it funny.
You can make all your LSN setting at idle. Do it only an 1/8th of a turn at a time, drive around for a few mins and then adjust it again. Enjoy!
