Will the Miami Heat trade Dwyane Wade before the draft on Thursday?
If yes, tell me who for (obviously the #1 pick, but which other players) and what your opinion is of the situation.
I don't think that they will, for two reasons:
1. What would they gain out of it? Chicago is almost indefinitely going to go with Rose, the best point guard in the draft. Miami is probably going to go with Michael Beasley, and they have the second overall pick. Unless Chicago trades down from the 1st spot, Beasley will definitely available. Chicago doesn't have any players who are even comparable to Wade. Hughes is a good team player, but is not nearly as talented as Wade. Thomas is good, but not great.
2. Wade is the face of Miami Heat. Without him, they are nothing. They were finally able to get him some help by trading for Marion (they should keep him, he should help them out a lot). Give it a shot this year and see what he can do with Marion and Beasley (two extremely dangerous scoring threats.) I think that Wade and Beasley will work great together. Beasley is sooooo good on the fast break and is basically the most athletic basketball player out there not named Dwight Howard.
If anything, the Heat should trade Marion. They might be able to get a really good pick for him.
