Why will my 2005 Dodge Ram A/C only blow air on the highest fan setting?
A few days ago the A/C in my truck stopped working, sort of...it will blow cold air, but only at the highest blower setting - indeed the fan and A/C will not come on at all on the intermediate fan settings. So I have to do without A/C altogether, or else have it blowing loudly at full force. How fixable is this for a civilian? thanks!
most likely its your blower motor resistor
all blower motors only have one speed, the resistor is a seperate device that allows the consumer to set different fan speeds. when they go bad you blower motor will run on highest speed only.
go to your local parts store or dealer and buy a new resistor. normally these are located under dash on right side, mounted on case with screws. it is a DIY repair but if you dont feel comfortable then take to mechanic.
