I have shooting pains down my left arm, what does this mean?
The last few days I've been experiencing regular shooting pains down my left arm, from half way down my upper arm all the way to the tip of my forefinger. I am 21, female and of a healthy weight, and no, I dont have any pains in my chest, ONLY my arm. There are no other symptoms. what could this mean?
If you have irritated a nerve in your neck, shoulder or
even elbow, this pain could be a result. Potential causes
could range from sleeping in a position that
pressures the neck or shoulder or a minor impact that
may have seemed trivial. Try to identify where the
highest painful joint seems to be, and see if a
massage causes relief.
A little ibuprofen and plenty of water may help.
Have your eyes checked to make sure vision
problems are not disrupting the way you hold
your head, which could irritate the nerve running
from your neck to the fingers.
Pay attention to your resting position, and try
to rest flat on your back, with a rolled up towel
under your neck.
If your pain persists or worsens, see a Dr or Physical
Therapist.
Good Luck~
